The Emergency Medical Services Programs are fully approved by the Alabama Department of Public Health, Emergency Medical Services Division. The Paramedic Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Education Programs for EMS Professionals (CoAEMSP).

Southern Union State Community College has not determined if the Emergency Medical Services Program at SUSCC meets the Emergency Medical Services state education requirements in other states, any U.S. Territory, or the District of Columbia. Students who reside in a state other than Alabama should contact the specific licensing agency in the state or territory where they plan to seek licensure to find additional educational requirements.
