The Miss Southern Union pageant is a scholarship pageant that offers over $2,000 in scholarships to participants each year.
It is a part of the Miss America Organization that provides millions of dollars in scholarship money to contestants throughout the United States. Miss Southern Union competes for the title of Miss Alabama each summer.
QUALIFICATIONS: To enter the Miss Southern Union Scholarship Pageant, or any other Miss America local preliminary, contestants must meet certain basic requirements and agree to abide by all the rules of the local, state, and national Miss America Pageant now in effect or as announced hereafter. To be a contestant in the Miss Southern Union Pageant, you must:
- Be a female age 18-28
- Be a citizen of the United States of America
- Not be married, never been married, never had a marriage annulled, never cohabited or have a child
- Be available for public appearances as Miss Southern Union
- Be enrolled as a full-time student at Southern Union
Miss Southern Union 2026
Miss Southern Union will be held January 29, 2026 in Brazeal Auditorium on the Wadley Campus.
ALL CONTESTANTS MUST REGISTER / ENTER WITH MISS AMERICA HERE FOR ALL LOCAL PRELIMINARIES:
Join Club America by visiting https://www.club.missamerica.org/ma-membership. The process takes a while to complete. It is better to complete the whole process at once.
Before beginning the registration process have a copy of your drivers license, birth certificate and proof of residency (or if you are a student not from Alabama, have proof you are a student). You will need to upload these documents.
FOR EACH PRELIMINARY YOU ENTER, YOU WILL ALSO OPEN A SPOT FUND ACCOUNT AND RAISE $30.
When you go online to enter, there are several steps, and you must complete them all to be entered into Miss Southern Union.
When you have paid your yearly $49.99 subscription fee, then you will be able to choose the local preliminary you would like to enter. When you chose the pageant, you will then pay for that preliminary and enter your personal information for that and then you will be taken to the Miss America Contract. You must complete it in full. It will ask for you to upload your drivers' license, birth certificate, and proof of residency. Upon completing the contract, then you will continue on to the next step which is Spot Fund. You will then set up your Spot Fund account for the local pageant that you are entering and none others-- just this one. After you have done that, then you will be totally entered into Miss Southern Union! Upon completion of registration, you should receive an email from Miss America with a member number. You can use that number to enter any additional preliminaries.
You must use the exact same email throughout registration. (In other words, do not use a personal email address at one place and then a school email at another or a parent's email at another--- that would kick everything out completely!)

Photo (5x7)
Talent CD
Email a 5x7 photo, the Miss SU local contract, copy of your drivers license, birth certificate, CSI essay, contestant fact sheet, talent music, and copy of medical insurance card and medical form to sbrown@suscc.edu.
