What is BCM?
Baptist Campus Ministries is both a student organization and a ministry to students (mostly by students). It is open to all denominations! BCM seeks to be a place of refuge, truth and challenge. Christian growth and service. For Wadley Campus students, we invite you to join us every Monday at 7:30 pm in the Student Center!
Some of you will walk right in like you’ve always been at BCM! For others, we know, it can be difficult to get out of your “comfort zone” and meet new people but once you do, you will make some awesome friends for life. BCM is not a private organization! No invitation is needed!
A student said it so well when he made the statement that “college often becomes a graveyard for a student’s faith”! BCM is a place for you to connect with other students and with area churches. The mission of BCM is to serve God. We do that by connecting college students to God and other Christians, while providing opportunities for spiritual growth and avenues for service. We live out our faith together on campus as witnesses for Christ. Everything we do is because Christ matters in our lives.
BCM is funded and made possible by gifts from Alabama Baptist churches through the Cooperative Program and the local Baptist association of churches.
Frequently Asked Questions:
- How do I join BCM?
Great news! Membership is free! There are no dues. Simply join us on Mondays at 7:30 pm in the Student Center/Wadley Campus to get connected! - What if I am not Baptist?
No problem; in fact many BCM students are from other denominations. All students, all denominations, and all faiths are welcome to attend BCM sponsored activities and events. - What can I expect when I come to BCM on Monday nights?
Our amazing BCM Praise Band leads us in worship each week. Beginning this Fall, we will be “stepping outside the box” utilizing the talents of students in the areas of drama and dance to lead worship as well! Students are Saying…..
“BCM to me has been an opportunity to become closer to God. God spoke to me through music, so I led worship every service we had and through that experience, I got to witness first-hand the Holy Spirit working through the congregation of college students. All the opportunities I was presented with I know were directly from God and I wouldn’t trade them for anything!” ~ Heydin
What BCM means to me is something that is mind blowing. I would never have imagined that I would meet some of my best friends and continue to grow in my walk with Christ. Nor did I realize that God would allow me to become a leader in BCM and allow me to watch it grow from two each week to nearly forty every week! It is amazing to see what God will show you.” ~ Calli
“BCM has shown me the joy of having Christian friends and how much that helps relieve the stress of college life. Through BCM, I have become closer to God from the praise and worship to the speakers that God blesses us with.” ~ Arin
“BCM to me has been a life-changing event where students can come together to worship God and make friendships that last a lifetime.” ~ Kyle
