Nursing Program Information
The Nursing Program admits students three times per year. Prospective students must meet the minimal admission requirements and apply for admission to the nursing program by the program's application deadline. See admission requirements for additional information.

The Nursing application windows are as follows:
- For Summer 2025 Admission at the Wadley Campus only - month of February 2025
- For Day Fall 2025 Admission at the Opelika Campus only - month of April 2025

Professional Licensure Information:
The Southern Union State Community College Nursing Program has the approval of the Alabama Board of Nursing. The Registered Nurse and Practical Nursing curricula meet the state education requirements for a Registered Nurse and Practical Nursing license in the state of Alabama.
Professional Licensure in other states and territories:
Southern Union State Community College has not determined if the Nursing Program at SUSCC meets the Registered Nursing or Practical Nurse state education requirements in other states, any U.S. Territory, or the District of Columbia. Students who reside in a state other than Alabama should contact the specific Board of Nursing in the state or territory where they plan to seek licensure to find additional educational requirements.

The most recent accreditation decision made by the ACEN Board of Commissioners for the ADN program is initial accreditation (2021).
